2011 Mora County Democratic Convention Set for Saturday, April 2

The 2011 Mora County Democratic Party Convention will take place on Saturday, April 2nd at the VFW on Hwy. 518 in Mora from 12noon - 4pm.

Denish and Lujan to Rally Mora County Democrats

Lt. Governor Diane Denish and Congressman Ben Ray Lujan will kick off their GOTV caravan on Saturday, October 16th at at the Cowboy Kitchen in Mora at 8:30am. Join Mora Democrats for a free breakfast and some inspiration to step up our efforts to get out the vote in the final weeks of early voting before November 2nd.

Everyone is invited!!

The Mora County Democratic Party will have call lists for people who are willing to volunteer to do phone banking from home. Candidates will have signs and literature for campaign volunteers to hit the road and get out the vote!!

Join the Mora County Democrats for the Fiesta Parade

Saturday, July 24th, Mora and surrounding communities will come together for the annual parade as part of the fiestas de San Santiago y Santa Ana. The fiestas draw families from throughout the county and relatives from outside of Mora for a weekend of festivities.

The Mora County Democratic Party will have a float for all Democratic candidates who want to walk along with us or who want to place signs on the float. We will meet at the VFW at 7:30am to decorate the float.

Between 8am and 9am, we will have an informal meet and greet so locals can meet Democratic candidates, local and statewide. Everyone is invited!

The Mora Fiesta Committee is hosting live music Saturday and Sunday starting around noon until about 11pm.

We look forward to seeing everyone. Que Vivan las Fiestas!

Mora County Democratic Convention Set for January 30

The Mora County Democratic Convention will take place on January 30, 2010 at the VFW Post 1113 on Hwy. 518 in Mora from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. The purpose of the convention is to select delegates to represent Mora County at the statewide Pre-Primary Nominating Convention in March. The convention also serves as a forum for Democratic candidates to introduce themselves to local Democrats.

The Mora County Democratic Party invites all Democratic candidates competing in the June primary election to attend the convention and make some brief remarks in support of their candidacy. The party is also inviting candidates to purchase sponsorships to support the work of Mora County party activities including get out the vote work.

Secretary of State Mary Herrera Visits Mora

On October 19, Secretary of State Mary Herrera hosted a breakfast for Mora residents as part of her bid for re-election in 2010. She was greeted by about fifty locals, mostly Democrats, who came to hear about her accomplishments and future plans as Secretary of State.

Several local elected officials attended the breakfast including County Treasurer Ida Mora, County Assessor Angela Romero, and County Clerk Joann Padilla. Paula Garcia, Chair of the Mora County Democratic Party, make opening remarks and gave the official welcome to Mary Herrera. The breakfast was hosted by Kurt Young, a supporter of Herrera.

Another special guest was candidate for Lt. Governor Lawrence Rael who attended the breakfast to have an opportunity to visit with Mora community members.
